Today's Comments: I have decided to place the
Sterling Investment Services' Professional Trader's Newsletter on Hiatus!
This was a very difficult decision that did not come easily or without
much concern. I have devoted a very substantial portion of my life
over the last 3+ years to the research and writing of this newsletter.
I have always endeavored to produce the highest quality newsletter I could.
Over the last several months as other business activities I am involved
in have become more successful and began requiring more of my time,
my heart began to no longer be into the writing of this newsletter.
I will not produce a newsletter that receives less than a 100% effort on
my part. I have therefore decided to cease writing the newsletters
produced by Sterling Investment Services. This will allow me to devote
badly needed time to other business and personal activities. There
is a slight chance that in 90 days or so, when I am caught up with
my current work load I may decide to begin publishing my newsletters again.
I am instructing our ecommerce company to cease all credit
card charges for Web Based subscribers. Refunds will be issued on
all unused portion of subscriptions in approximately 3-4 weeks. As
soon as I have had a chance to review the January statements I will issue
refunds on all unused FAX SERVICE subscriptions. This will require
approximately 3 weeks to receive the statements and review them.
When I returned to the office last night to write what
may very well be the final edition of the Professional Trader's Newsletter,
I wondered how I would be spending my nights from now on. To produce
the full length version of the Professional Trader's Newsletter typically
required over 5 hours of work for every issue, not counting the additional
time during the day spent on sales, and marketing, plus technical
issues surrounding the maintenance of the web site. Multiply that
by 5 issues per week, and the time adds up. Also consider that
due to the nature of the market, I could not start the research on
the newsletter until after the market had closed. Well it did not
take me long to realize how I would be spending my new found time.
Professional I am going to continue the management of
my 2 Hedge Funds, and the consulting work I perform for companies
seeking to go public. On a personal time I plan on spending my time
on the things I like the most; working out, volleyball,
skiing (both water & snow), reading, concerts, and
spending time with friends & family.
I am going to continue to maintain the web site of sterlinginvestments.com,
and may occasionally decide to post interesting items on the site.
I have enjoyed writing the newsletter over the last several
years. I have also enjoyed speaking with and getting to know my subscribers.
I greatly appreciate the concern and get well wishes that were expressed
during my recovery from hip surgery. I wish all of you the very best.
Today, February 2nd, is Clair Nelson's birthday.
He is my late grandfather, who was and continues to be a source of
guiding principals and inspiration for me.
